On November 21 2018, the Centre for Technology and Global Affairs hosted Dr Paul Timmers and James Morrison CMG to speak on European Cybersecurity Policy in regards to Strategic Autonomy and Cyber Sovereignty. Timmers and Morrison have years of experience working on technology and politics in the European context and have given unique insight on the latest evolvements in these areas within the European Union.
Touching on the single market, internal, and external security, Timmers laid out how strategic autonomy and cyber sovereignty of the European Union could look like if they materialized. Morrison continued by showing what policies are most likely to be pursued.
Timmers and Morrison made a convincing argument on how to approach these concepts that have become increasingly prominent in European policy discussions.
