Simone Tani holds a PhD in the management of innovation from the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, Pisa. Following involvement in organizational development projects at General Electric worldwide, he has spent the last 20 years as urban innovator and manager of strategic change in a variety of roles within the Italian Government. These positions include Deputy Mayor of Florence and Economic Advisor to the Prime Minister, focusing on urban strategies. He is professor of public policy and leadership in public organizations at LUISS University and also Unilink Campus University in Rome. His interests focus on the implementation of innovation and organizational change in urban areas. He has founded three start up companies dealing with issues such as artificial intelligence, social innovation and planning relating to urban perspectives. He collaborates with the School of Transnational Governance of the European University Institute of Florence.
