Ivan Martinovic is an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science, University of Oxford. Ivan’s research focuses on designing, measuring, and evaluating the security of distributed systems. His current research is focused on authentication and intrusion detection, mobile security, and the analysis of trade-offs between security and system’s performance. Ivan has published over 70 papers in these areas and he serves as a steering committee member of the ACM Conference on Security and Privacy in Wireless and Mobile Networks. For his research on the security and privacy of wireless data-links used in aviation, Ivan received the MPLS Impact Award 2017.
Before coming to Oxford, Ivan worked at the Security Research Lab, UC Berkeley and at the Secure Computing and Networking Centre, UC Irvine. He obtained his PhD from TU Kaiserslautern and MSc from TU Darmstadt, Germany. His PhD Thesis on wireless security was awarded with the Best Computer Science Dissertation Award by the German Association for Data Protection and Data Security (GDD).
